MOSCOW, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke highly of women's contributions in his greetings on International Women's Day, the Kremlin said Thursday.
"Only women can create a welcoming atmosphere at work and at home, take care of our homes and children every day and be a moral example to them," he said.
"We know that a woman's heart is the most loyal, her forgiveness the most powerful. And we know that a mother's love is truly boundless," the president said.
International Women's Day is an official holiday in Russia. All Russian people can have a four-day leave this year.
