KIEV, May 4 (Xinhua) -- At least 4 people were killed and 18 others injured Monday in a Russian attack on the city of Merefa in Ukraine's eastern Kharkiv region, regional governor Oleg Synegubov said.

According to preliminary data, the missile strike damaged a vehicle service station, an administrative building, 10 residential buildings, four shops and an eatery, Synegubov wrote on Telegram.

He said the dead were two men aged 50 and 63, and two women aged 41 and 52, respectively.

All of the injured are receiving medical treatment, with three of them in severe condition. ■
