ABUJA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of suspected terrorists have been killed and several others arrested in recent operations in northern Nigeria, the army said on Monday.
In the northeastern state of Borno, troops engaged terrorist logistics suppliers along the Agapalwa-Chinene axis in Gwoza Local Government Area on Sunday, the News Agency of Nigeria reported, citing an army operational report.
The military also carried out operations in the Gallari and Konduga areas, destroying two gun trucks concealed under trees through aerial surveillance, the report said.
In another operation, troops destroyed suspected terrorist support facilities at Gakara high ground and Ndova village, according to the report.
Meanwhile, in the northwestern state of Zamfara, troops repelled an attack on a military base and destroyed two gun trucks, the report added. ■
