RABAT, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Morocco concluded a deal with U.S. company Raytheon to purchase advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM), local media reported Friday.

The entire AMRAAM system includes the missiles, spares and telemetry kits, the Moroccan le360.ma news site said.

The expected deadline for Raytheon to complete its end of the contract is Jan. 31, 2020, it added.

The U.S. remains the primary arms supplier for Morocco, providing more than 96 percent of the country's weapons imports in 2016.

According to media reports, Morocco imported 254 million U.S. dollars' worth of armaments in 2016, with 244 million dollars on U.S.-made weapons.
