SINGAPORE, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.09 percent or 3.04 points to close at 3,235.9.

A total of 1.84 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.13 billion Singapore dollars (about 826.96 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 202 to 176.

The STI index closed down 0.91 percent or 29.76 points to close at 3,238.94 on Monday. Enditem
